A Song of Ice and Fire: 2021 Digital Updates

Bannermen! We have some very exciting news for you today! If you’ve been keeping up with our Visions in the Flames article series, you have no doubt eagerly awaiting the full release of the 2021 Updates. Well, we are glad to announce that the time is almost upon us!

Assuming you’re all caught up, let’s talk about the 2021 Update:

This release will be handled in two waves: The Physical Card Pack Release and the Digital Online Update. We wanted these releases to coincide with each other, but unfortunately, we’ve been hit on the receiving end of a paper shortage in China which has affected our master schedule. Even while exploring other world-wide printing options, this has ended up causing ripple effects which delayed our production timetables and pushed back when we’re going to be able to roll the physical card packs out.

As a result, we’ve decided to advance the release of the Digital Online/War Council Update, so you can already begin integrating and utilizing the full 2021 Release.

Here’s what you need to know:

• The full 2021 Release will be available this Friday (May 14th, 2021) via the War Council App. For those unaware, this is our Official Companion App which includes all Stat Cards in the game, a Collection Tracker, as well as a List Builder, including the ability to Print your full army lists.You can download it for Apple and Android with the following links:

• VERY IMPORTANT: To access the 2021 Update specifically, you will need to Apply to be a Tester for the App, which will allow you access to the “2021 Beta-Test Version”. Reasons for this are outlined further on. To do so, click the following links based on your system:

• Should, after updating to this Beta-Test Version, you wish to roll-back your App Version to 1.6, there are directions for doing so on each platform.
• The 2021 Updates also include updated Tactics Cards for all Factions. While all other aspects of List-Building and play can be handled via the App, a physical Tactics Deck is needed. For that, we have provided full Print-and-Play files for each faction’s Tactics Cards, available HERE.
• Because we understand some players won’t wish to utilize the 2021 Updates until a physical pack is released, we’re keeping the War Council App in its v1.6 form until their release unless a player specifically opts into updating it to 2021- hence the extra needed steps above. The standard version of the App will be fully updated to 2021 once the Physical Packs are released.
